To reach the very top,
That I might look out upon my valley
Skirted by bluest hills
Filled with green paddocks.
I watch the sun rise and the sun set,
The glorious hues.
I watch the stillness of day hold all,
I hear the earth come to rest.
The air becomes quiet and heavy.
I look out on industry and architecture,
I know people are hidden,
Traveling oblivious to now,
Consumed with thoughts about the day,
Missing an encounter, such travesty.
I love the encounter with time, day, light
Air, atmosphere and presence.
My travels bring peace, refreshment and joy,
My little companions smile, off leads running free,
Together we share this special time, it belongs to us.
Leaving my mountain for daytime and nightfall is not hard,
I am refreshed and will return.
I choose to come, this is my experience,
To look out on my home, my city, my country and let it talk. What joy!
