The Quest

I am on a quest
For something I see at the edges,
It is barely there,
But I know it is there,
In the shadows and at dusk.

It calls me, hungers me,
Has me climbing through webs of intrigue,
Through dim lit corridors,
Intently listening for the faintest sound.

I know it is there,
Because I have a part of it in me.
I must find it, touch it, live it,
Embrace all of it, for it is me.

It's presence excites me,
Tantalises my imagination,
Presses my heart.
I must have it, possess it,
For yet I lack.

It draws me on adventure,
To strang and different lands.
I will go where it leads,
Over sand and snow,
Through storm and tempest,
O'r billowing seas, I must go.

Oh to possess and understand,
This treasure is more than gold.
This is treasure is who I was born to be,
This treasure is greater, far greater,
Why this treasure is really me.
