Similar memories are ours,
We have a bond friends don't share,
It's in our blood, so there!
We have brothers too,
But then, they are different to we.
Strange beasts with different moods,
Temperaments, toys and tunes.
Now at an age when memories less troubled,
Joy more readily shows, gratitude glows.
Room we have for each other,
Shared meals and a game or three.
How grateful am I to know you,
How grateful to spend time,
How grateful am I that you live,
And on journeys we can go.
Oh to have been more patient,
Less selfish, more tolerant,
At younger years more fun we'd had,
But at least we now have it,
Like good wine and cheese.
