The Park

Today I run around the park,
Past ponds, ducks, lizards and the like,
and finally come to the forest,
and stop and find a friend.

If I run through this,
too much I will miss.
Here, in still quiet,
Is life and presence.

Peace calls to me,
Ancient tree whisper knowledge,
Climbing vines share wisdom,
Old lizards beckon to listen.

Beauty refreshes,
Stillness shares rest.
My day can wait,
My heart must stay, in a land that fills me.
